Painting kitchen cabinets

Painting your kitchen cabinets might be a hassle if you don’t know how. 1. Preparations
   You will need a screwdriver or a drill to remove all the hardware and screws from the cabinets
   
   
2. Remove the old paint and finishes
   It is necessary to remove the old paint and finish in order for the primer to stick. You will need a 150 grade or finer sandpaper to remove the old paint or finish. This job is best accompanied by covering your face with a dust mask.
   
   
3. Clean the paintless kitchen cabinet
   Clean the kitchen cabinet to a smooth texture. Make sure that before you apply the paint that the kitchen cabinet is dry.
   
   
4. Apply the primer
   Once the kitchen cabinet has been cleaned, is dry and have a smooth texture, you can now apply the primer. The primer acts as a “bonding” medium between the cabinet and the paint. It is not necessary to apply a primer, but it does guarantee a lasting effect.
   
   
5. Painting the cabinets
   For the best results, use semi-gloss or high gloss paint for kitchen cabinets and a 3 inch paint brush. For even better and smoother results, use a pneumatic sprayer. First paint the kitchen cabinet doors followed by the cabinet bases.
   
   
6. Additional strokes
   Once you have finished painting the kitchen cabinets, take a piece of sandpaper and sand the painted surface lightly. This is not to remove the paint, but will ensure that the second coat adhere smoothly.
