Kitchen design with a corner sink
Is your kitchen design shaped in a L or U shape and you are a little bit unsure where to position your sink and still have sufficient working space and walking area? Your best bet would be to install a corner sink. It will increase your efficiency in the kitchen as it is equidistant from your working platforms.
A corner kitchen sink does not hinder your movement within the kitchen’s floor area and allow you to work on the platform of the kitchen and have easy access to the sink from all areas in the kitchen. If you decide to install a corner sink in your kitchen you can have your sink custom made. You can choose between the number and shape of the bowls, the holes for the faucets as well as the positioning of the faucet, either on the wall or mounted on the sink. Kitchen corner sinks come in a variety of forms from a round bowl, a rectangle, a square to a triangular shape. If your sink is custom made you can choose from different materials such as granite, stainless steel, porcelain or copper to be a custom fit to your unique kitchen design. However, it may be more difficult to find a porcelain corner sink than the other materials.
Before you install the corner sink please keep in mind the house’s drainage system to determine the positioning of your sink. Preferably, the sink should be placed near the drain preventing the need for extra long pipes.
However if your kitchen design is galley shaped it would be best to go for the center fit kitchen sink.
Whichever kitchen design and corner sink you choose keep in mind that your sink plays an important role in the daily kitchen activities and are accessed and utilised on a daily basis.
